Get help living with bipolar

We offer a range of support designed to help you understand bipolar, build confidence and feel less alone.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with bipolar for some time, we’re here to support you.

Support groups

We run support groups across Scotland, both online and in person.

These groups offer a safe, welcoming space for people living with bipolar, as well as friends, family, and carers, to connect with others who understand, share experiencesmand support one another.

All groups are free to attend and are facilitated by trained volunteers, some of whom have lived experience of bipolar.

Momentum Works

Momentum Works is a peer-led service from Bipolar Scotland, supporting people in the early stages of their journey with bipolar to feel more confident at work or in study.

We understand that managing bipolar in the workplace can bring unique challenges. Momentum Works focuses on practical ways to stay well, advocate for what you need, and move forward with confidence.

Support is delivered by trained peer support workers and volunteers with lived experience of balancing bipolar alongside work, study and everyday life.

Self-management training

Our Self-Management Training focuses on helping you understand bipolar and build practical ways to stay well.

You’ll explore how to recognise patterns and triggers, manage symptoms, and strengthen your support network. The sessions are designed to help you feel more confident in managing your wellbeing and taking an active role in your mental health.

Beyond diagnosis

Beyond Diagnosis is a specialised service for people who have recently been diagnosed with bipolar.

It offers up to six months of one-to-one support, helping you make sense of your diagnosis and adjust to what it means for you.

You’ll have space to talk through your concerns, learn more about bipolar, and explore support and resources available to you. The focus is on helping you feel informed, supported and more confident as you move forward.

Workplace Training

Our workplace training supports organisations to better understand bipolar and create more inclusive, supportive workplaces.

Delivered by facilitators with lived experience, sessions explore common myths, misunderstandings, and stigma. They are interactive and thought-provoking, helping to build knowledge, understanding and practical confidence.

We offer a range of training options, with flexibility around themes, length and delivery format.

Our approach to support

Our support is shaped by lived experience and built around what people tell us they need.

We focus on connection, understanding and practical ways to live well with bipolar  – offering support that is flexible, inclusive and centred on each person’s journey.
